Domestic Career
In the 2012–13 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Jasprit Bumrah made his debut for Gujarat in Twenty20 matches against Maharashtra. He was Man of the Match and contributed significantly to the finals against Punjab by claiming three wickets for just fourteen runs.
Bumrah made his first-class cricket debut for Gujarat against Vidarbha in October 2013 during the 2013–14 Ranji Trophy season, following his victory in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. With seven wickets in his debut game, he was excellent. Bumrah was the team’s top wicket-taker aafterthe competition.
IPL Career
At the age of 19, Bumrah made his IPL debut. His first IPL wicket came from Virat Kohli in his game against RCB, where he finished ahead of the opposition with a decent tally of 3/32. As a result, he became just the second bowler in tournament history to take three wickets in his first outing. In 2014, the Mumbai Franchise brought him back. Since then, Jasprit has been a crucial member of the Mumbai Indians.
International career
In the two Twenty20 International matches in the series against the West Indies in August 2016, he eclipsed Dirk Nannes’ record for most wickets in a calendar year. Bumrah was named Player of the Match in the second Twenty20 International of England’s 2016–17 tour of India in January 2017. He claimed two wickets and conceded 20 runs.
