The fans of Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings have seen multiple title wins. This is why these and other IPL fans troll Royal Challengers Bangalore as they have not won it yet. However, Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals have yet to win it and they compete from the start. But overall, RCB has better players and hence, they get the troll to the next level. And it is brought up the term named “RCB ka baap kaun hai”.

It means who is the daddy or father of RCB. This means showing the power of dominance over the RCB of the old rivals.

About Royal Challengers Bangalore IPL Team

Royal Challengers Bangalore or RCB is a famous side in the Indian Premier League. They are known all over the world for their great fanbase. It is always a great atmosphere at the M. Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium. RCB is a side associated with the IPL from the first-ever season, which happened in 2008. But Royal Challengers Bangalore has not won the Indian Premier League title when other top sides with star players have.

Origian Behind “RCB Ka Baap Kaun Hai” Meme

RCB Ka Baap Kaun Hai is a mega part of meme culture that is being used by the fans of MI, KKR and CSK. These three teams have won the IPL many times. But RCB has lost the plot despite having star players in the team who are just too good. Virat Kohli, who has won every ICC title for India in limited-overs cricket, has not won with RCB.

And he over the years had played like Chris Gayle, A. B. De Villiers and many others. They all have been top players of the T20 format and despite this, it is the only side that has not made the overall formation which helps a team to grow.

RCB has faced mostly CSK, MI and KKR in eliminators or finals and all of these and other sides have beaten them. This is why to troll the fanbase of RCB, the supporters of other sides say RCB Ka Baap Kaun. It means they feel kind of inferior to the other side.

On social media, it has become a part of funny and meme culture. When RCB does not win a game, this trend happens and makes it work to have banter.

Teams That Trigger This Meme Culture Most

Mumbai Indians (MI)

Mumbai Indians is a super-successful IPL side. They have won the event 5 times and only CSK match them with also 5 titles. They have not met in any of the final, but Mumbai Indians have seen overall more success than RCB. Like Rohit Sharma as captain did win so many IPL titles with MI, but Virat was not able to. This is why MI fans use this phrase RCB Ka Baap Kaun Hai from time to time.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK)

Chennai Super Kings is another team that uses this phrase and in South India RCB and CSK are two of the oldest sides. So this battle becomes even more crucial as South India derby. One side is from Chennai and another from Bangalore, it is the reason whenever Chennai beats RCB, this phrase comes or when RCB does not manage to win the title.

And not to forget that in the 2011 final, CSK beat RCB in the IPL final by 22 runs at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Mumbai. This battle is huge for the fans as they were very close to winning the title in 2011.

RCB has reached the final game three times in 2009, they lost to Deccan Chargers, in 2011 to CSK and in 2016 to Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)

After MI and CSK, it is KKR who has won the IPL title the most three times. However, KKR and RCB have not faced in the final match of the IPL. But they opened the IPL format back in 2008 when KKR beat RCB by a huge margin. The defeat is still remembered by most cricket fans as KKR did bat really well.

It is not like RCB does not beat the other teams. They have done it and are a very good team. But not winning the IPL matters the most, and these three sides have done it time and time again.

RCB: South Africa of IPL

It would be fair to say that just like South Africa did not do well in the ICC World Cups in the 50 and 20 overs titles, RCB does the same in the IPL. They have played three final games but lost all of them despite having players who could change the game at any given time.

The fanbase of RCB is known for passion and drive. Like they back the team well.

But in the end, RCB is not able to cross the line and there have been many times where they keep on losing the games. And till now, the overall balance still lacking in the team. The top order works well, but others do not able to contribute the smooth best. And they are the biggest side of meme culture on social media.

Can one say that there is a “Baap” of RCB?

Well, it is not like RCB has not beaten teams. They have done it, but now when it was the final of the game. They always have star players playing for them. But overall, the culture does not seem still as complete for them to win the title.

So it is fair to say that there is a “Baap” of RCB. But yes, they lose to teams when it matters the most. But overall, RCB is a side that most teams take very seriously as they can win the game from any position due to star players and the impact they bring.

Final Take

In India, cricket is the biggest sports. For many, it is the lifeline. And the IPL has given cities chances to battle it out for the glory just like the concept in football leagues. This is why a city does not want to lose others.

Hence, they make such teams like RCB Ka Baap Kaun Hai. Because it is one side that has a great and loyal fanbase. And despite they have seen not winning the glory, every season the support looks great and bigger. And to trigger RCB fans, such memes are being created. And then cricket sells in India, which is the biggest factor.
