He was born and brought up in Delhi India on November 5, 1988 in and had an interest in cricket from a very young age. His father’s name is  Prem Kohli who supported his passion for cricket and enrolled him in the West Delhi Cricket Academy at nine years of age. His coach was Rajkumar Sharma under whom he reshaped his initial cricket career.
